The 216-inch, 8K screen sets a new standard for video walls, as Leyard and Planar showcases an array of solutions including pliable LED which can create video walls that are both flat and curved.

Leyard and Planar is presenting an ultra-fine pitch LED technology demonstration of a 0.6 millimetre video wall featuring micro LED at ISE 2020. Measuring 216 inches with 8K resolution, the demo represents the company’s largest and finest pixel pitch LED video wall display supporting 8K to date and sets a new standard for the video wall market.

In addition to the 0.6 millimetre technology demonstration, Leyard and Planar will present other award-winning fine pitch LED innovations designed for superior image performance and reliability, including the next-generation DirectLight X LED Video Wall System and the TVF Series LED video wall line.

“We’re excited to be showing such a wide range of compelling displays, including a preview of our 0.6 millimeter micro LED 8K resolution video wall,” said Steve Seminario, vice president of product development at Leyard and Planar. “The combination of micro LED and 4-in-1 pixel packaging technology offers a combination of pixel density, visual performance and ruggedness unattainable with conventional LED display designs.”

DirectLight X adds unrivalled video processing and management capabilities to Leyard and Planar’s ultra-fine pitch LED video wall line. With the latest 4K video standards, signal extension, multi-source processing and modern web-based graphical control software, DirectLight X creates a complete system that reduces dependence on external processing systems and makes the video wall easier to operate and monitor.

ISE attendees will also experience the clear, crisp imagery TVF Series offers at nearly every angle and viewing distance. With models available in 1.2, 1.5, 1.8 and 2.5 millimetre pixel pitches, the TVF Series offers a 27-inch, slim-profile display cabinet, front serviceability and a creative, stackable design to eliminate cabinet-to-cabinet cabling and reduce complexity of installation and vertical alignment.

In addition, Leyard and Planar will demonstrate ERO-LED (Extended Ruggedness and Optic) on the TVF Series. Protecting fine pitch LED displays from dust, electro-static discharge, humidity, casual human contact and impact at both the front and edges, ERO-LED enhances visual performance by significantly increasing contrast in ambient light.

Also on display in the Leyard and Planar stand will be CarbonLight CLI Flex. Bending into curves as tight as 25-inch or 637 millimetres, this line of pliable LED video wall displays combine to create immersive concave or convex curved video walls. Surpassing the boundaries of LED technology, these LED modules literally bend, and are ideal for indoor, fixed video wall installations requiring smooth curves, waves or column wraps. CarbonLight CLI Flex enables smooth curves that do not cause colour shift, offering a more visually appealing alternative to faceting flat LED cabinets into segmented curves. The LED modules can also be combined with standard CarbonLight CLI Series cabinets to form video walls with both flat and curved surfaces This solution is offered in 1.5, 1.9, 2.6 and 3.9 millimetre pixel pitches.

Leyard and Planar will also exhibit VS Series LED video wall displays, the latest addition to the company’s portfolio of display solutions designed for the rental and staging industry. The VS Series is a full-featured series of LED video wall displays built for easy assembly and transport, adaptability to diverse environments and fast serviceability. Offered in 2.5, 3.9 and 4.8 millimetre pixel pitches, the VS Series is aimed at rental and staging professionals who assemble video walls for events, concerts and mobile studio backdrops. The LED displays have been built from the ground up to address the real-world requirements and feedback from customers who desire a lightweight, simple design that is quick to assemble, tear down and transport—but also rugged enough to withstand wear and tear.

Leyard and Planar will also exhibit the four-time, award-winning CarbonLight LED Displays, a family of lightweight, adaptable LED displays ideal for a variety of uses from outdoor standard pitch to mesh to LED flooring.

At ISE 2020, Leyard and Planar will also showcase the expanded Clarity Matrix G3 LCD Video Wall System product line, including a new 55-inch model with a sub-1 millimetre tiled bezel and enhanced visual performance, as well a new 65-inch model featuring 4K resolution, unmatched pixel density and larger uninterrupted viewing area. Clarity Matrix G3 MX55M LCD video wall displays feature a 0.88 millimetre tiled bezel width, nearly half of the smallest bezel size of the Clarity Matrix video wall line. The Clarity Matrix G3 MX65U-4K LCD video wall display quadruples the resolution of the long-standing industry standard 55-inch display, providing much greater pixel density and uninterrupted display area.

The company will also present the latest offerings in the Planar VM Series line of LCD video wall displays including the 55-inch Planar VM55MX-M and Planar VM55LX-M, setting the industry standard for the smallest bezel with a 0.88 millimetre tiled bezel width and featuring native Full HD resolution.

ISE attendees can also view the Planar EPX Series including a 100-inch 4K LCD display featuring Ultra HD resolution (3840 x 2160) offering high brightness of 700 nits and a wide colour gamut for stunning image quality and deep, rich colour reproduction. The company will showcase the Planar EPX100 Touch, which brings interactivity to the 4K immersive experience, in addition to a 58-inch Planar EP Series display. Available in 50-inch, 58-inch, 65-inch and touch models, Planar EP Series displays also feature 4K resolution for best-in-class reliability and stunning image quality.

The next-generation Planar LookThru Transparent OLED Display will also be on display at ISE 2020. Planar LookThru makes it possible to create truly see-through installations with a virtually frameless glass design by utilising cutting-edge Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology, eliminating the need for a backlight or enclosure. With 38 per cent light transmissivity, the glass delivers all the benefits of interactive digital signage while allowing consumers to see the product or scenes behind the display. Available in 55inch with full HD resolution, Planar LookThru is ideal for retail merchandising, corporate displays, museum exhibits, award or trophy cases in education or corporate settings, trade show exhibits and a wide range of architectural applications.

Visitors to ISE 2020 can view these and a variety of additional LED display technology innovations from Leyard and Planar at Stand #12-H100.
