Samsung releases a number of television sets every year and it moves off market shelves fast… very fast… since the company has perfected the art of manufacturing displays. Just when we thought the South Korean company can’t outdo itself in the TV business, it decides to unveil its latest visual display innovations, including the all-new 2022 Neo QLED 8K, which is not inexpensive but, of course, comes with technology that will set a benchmark for the industry.

At the heart of the 2022 Neo QLED 8K Smart TV is the Neural Quantum Processor 8K for more optimal viewing and contrast-enhancing tech for added clarity. We are talking about extreme improvements. Twenty independent neural AI networks analyse each scene and adjust picture quality to deliver the best viewing experiences regardless of content’s original picture quality. There is also Real Depth Enhancer, which maximises depth and vividness by improving picture quality and sharpness, making scenes more real.

The processor with support from powerful Quantum Mini LEDs is able to create lighting that is precise and controlled so bright areas stay bright and the dark space around it stays dark. An example of which is a full moon, which will stay bright against the black night sky.

That’s not all, the 2022 QLED has received the world’s first ‘Pantone Validated’ certification in display from Pantone, which is an authority on colour science. The new models will reproduce more than 2,000 colours as well as the newly-added 110 skin tone shades found in Pantone’s guidelines.

On the flagship model of the series, QN900B, sounds will come from a 90W 6.2.4 channel audio system, featuring new top channel speakers and Dolby Atmos with Object Tracking Sound Pro.

The company is also bringing Wireless Dolby Atmos to its Neo QLED 4K and 8K TVs. It will also be applied to Samsung’s new 2022 Ultra Slim Soundbar, offering a minimal set up with less clutter from HDMI cables.

As important as picture quality is ease of navigation, allowing users to find programmes easily. Samsung now has Smart Hub, its new user interface, powered by Tizen. It brings every aspect of the smart experience into one easy-to-navigate home screen. The new tab classifies features, settings and content into three categories for a seamless user experience: Media, Gaming Hub and Ambient.

It’s good to find the Media screen integrating a range of entertainment services into one, including Samsung TV Plus, featuring over 190 free channels.

Gaming on these TVs will obviously be a good experience. For ease of use, Gaming Hub offers all the necessary functions users need to enjoy all the latest titles from game search platforms along with streaming services. The new platform will be available later this year on select 2022 Samsung Smart TV models.

At CES 2022, Samsung promised to bring NFT to its TVs. It’s true. There is a partnership with NFT auction site Nifty Gateway. In a statement, Nifty Gateway says that it’s “now integrated with Samsung’s NFT platform,” letting you “browse, display, and interact with NFTs” on the company’s new line-up. Nifty Gateway will also have an app on Samsung’s The Frame and Micro LED TVs.
