Mothers Against Greg Abbott, a women-led PAC, have raised more than $75,000 towards billboards advocating for Beto O'Rourke.

Uvalde families have asked Mothers Against Greg Abbott to put up billboards opposing the current governor along the route to and from San Antonio, according to a tweet from the women-led PAC on Tuesday, September 13. The Political Action Committee is hoping to raise money to follow through with their wishes.

According to the group, the families have requested the billboards that recite the statement Abbott gave after the Uvalde shooting that "it could have been worse." The mass shooting killed 19 students and two teachers at Robb Elementary School on May 24. The billboard also shows a picture of the Uvalde elementary school and states "Stop School Gun Violence. Vote Beto!"

In August, Mothers Against Greg Abbott told MySA that it had raised more than $75,000 toward billboards advocating for Beto O'Rourke. The PAC said it plans to display several billboards with different messages across Texas. The billboard is just one of the advertisements and actions the group has pushed ahead of the gubernatorial election in November.

"We have been asked by the families in Uvalde to put up 1-2 billboards between Uvalde and Hondo on the way to San Antonio," the group said. "If you can help us raise money toward this cause we would really appreciate it."

The sign is being printed this week and will be up next Monday, September 19, if the group can raise $4,500. Mothers Against Greg Abbott said it will be able to keep the sign-up till Election Day. The group said it already has one billboard on hold and is looking for a second one.

According to the tweet, Mothers Against Greg Abbott has raised $1,500 as of Tuesday afternoon.
