Station 6 Productions, the New York–based prodco recently launched by Tony Tackaberry that focuses on unscripted series, premium docs and formats, has made its first major hire in Sara Winter, who comes on board as vice president of development.

Winter (pictured) previously worked as development producer at Tackaberry’s former home, Lion Television U.S., where she was responsible for generating original concepts and casting for talent, and where her credits include such projects as the upcoming The Menendez Brothers: Misjudged? for Investigation Discovery. Prior to Lion, she was a developer, producer and writer for Antica Productions, and also held senior development roles at WAM Media GRP Inc. and Entertainment One.

In her new role at Station 6, Winter will work on creating new and original series and specials for broadcast networks and streaming platforms.

“Bringing Sara over to Station 6 is an exciting development, and one that speaks to the company’s potential,” said Station 6 founder and CEO Tackaberry. “I know her storytelling talents and creative instincts from her time at Lion, and I’m delighted they’re now now going to be put to great use helping build Station 6′s dynamic and diverse slate. A respected professional with deep relationships, she is a powerful addition to the team.”

Tackaberry formed Station 6 after leaving his post as CEO of Lion Television’s U.S. office. Ahead of the launch, Tackaberry secured a first-look deal and a development and production partnership with Blue Ant Studios.
